Promposals

by 6:39 PM
Promposals are getting bigger and more creative every year. This year Waldwick High School students have been extremely excited for the 2015 prom! Whether picking out the perfect dress or having your dream date, this night is about sharing memories together as a class and with your loved ones.
From announcements on the loud speaker to writing prom in a pizza box, it is no surprise that certain approaches have started to catch on across the country.

Here are some promposals from students in WHS and surrounding towns:

Samantha Schatz got asked by Peter John with this beautiful ring! (The bear was a nice touch)

"Will you glow to prom with me?" Liz Sullivan got asked by Mike Salmonese! Looks like a lot of effort which makes it even more special, way to go Mike!

A very special dinner for these two love birds and on the same night of their one year! Congrats guys! Veronica Panetale got asked by Brett Calderone.. Our fellow MP peers! (Food is always the way to go, yummy!)

There is never a problem with switching up the roles and having the girl ask the boy! Candy is sweet and this was sweeter! Great thinking Carly!

"We were out to dinner last Friday night at this restaurant called Bottagra and I had no idea it was happening. The waiter came over to the table with the plate and said I had to say yes to this (he was holding it up so I couldn't see) and I obviously said yes! They were powdered zeppolies with a Nutella chocolate sauce in the middle!" -Alexandra Figliuolo got asked by John Fulco (this was so cute!)

Whether your date goes all out or takes a more low-key approach have fun this year and make it ever lasting! Seniors: I hope this year has been going perfectly and I know that all of you will look great! Have a perfect time at prom everyone and here is to class of 2015!

HBD. (part 2)

February 19th was the day I was born and a day to thank my parents for bringing me into this world.

Last night, I went to dinner with a bunch of my friends. family friends, and of course family. The place was called Waterside in North Bergen and let me just say that I could not have imagined this place to be any better! The food was on point, every single piece of it.
This place is right off the water and you get this amazing city view right from where you are sitting. Even with the snow that was everywhere on the ground, the view was still spectacular. I could only imagine how much nicer this place would be in the summer.
I would totally recommend Waterside to everyone especially if you like sea food, it was delicious

So anyways as promised, I told you all I would make a post on my outfit for the dinner and here it is:

My parents got a limo for my friends and I to get the restaurant and it was the biggest surprise and totally unexpected! (Thanks mom and dad!)

Cheers to another year, another age!

Not This Year

Happy Friday!
Hope everyone's week has been fantastic and can get super excited right now because it is finally Friday and finally time for the weekend. Yesterday was a pretty special day: It was my birthday!! I wanted to show you guys my outfit, but I refuse to because I am going out to dinner tomorrow night and I rather share with you all that outfit instead of the one from yesterday that I wore to school! So just bare with me and hold off for tomorrow's outfit! It's worth the save, I promise.

Can you guys believe that this same time last year I was in California? Well, sadly not this year... Wish I could travel for ever birthday! It does make me sad because the weather here is 3 degrees and in Cali I'm sure it's in the 80's, but this year I am excited for what is to come this weekend!

Now, instead of me ranting about how cold it is and sob over the fact that I am not in California right now, here was my outfit of the day!

These pants were perfect for today because I had a few tests at school happening and since they fit a little bit baggy I wasn't uncomfortable whats-so-ever! This shirt is actually from Francesca's: It's loose and light, maybe not so appropriate for the weather, but with my little pink furry jacket, it was perfect! Comfortable is definitely the appropriate word for this outfit!

Short & Sweet

Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that can either be delightful or depressing. But today I'm sharing a little Valentine’s Day inspiration that I think everyone will love no matter what your relationship status is. Whether you’re single or spoken for, it’s still fun to get together and celebrate love, right?

Valentine's day is also another excuse to get all dolled up and for your partner to look spiffy too (blog post on outfit ideas coming soon).

If you do not have a valentine this year, why not make a valentines brunch or dinner with your friends? Valentine's day is not all about roses and champagne, ya know? It should also not be the only day to treat your partner any differently.. The love should always be there!

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of 5 cute ideas you can do for your Valentine:
1. Get Crafty. Buy a frame and put a picture of both you in it and buy a box of chocolates. Do a chocolate testing with each other and see which ones you like best!
2. Jewelery. Every girl loves some arm candy or a new pair of earrings- watches for men.
3. Go out to dinner. Have a good time with each other without having to spend so much money.
4. Stir the pot. Why not cook up your favorite meal together? Homemade pizza or pasta is always a good bet. Whether you cook dinner together or order take out, anything will taste delicious when you’re eating indoors on a blanket with candlelight (or while watching a chick flick with your girlfriends).
5. Do a movie night. Valentines day this year is on a Saturday so either go out on a movie date or rent movies and stay in!

Everyone loves gifts and surprises so just make the day about you guys and have a good time! It's the effort that counts, remember that! As long as you have something fun planned for the holiday, it will be a success!

xoxo

I think before I continue with this post, I should be apologizing to all of you.. It has been a little more than a month since we last spoke and that is not a good thing whats-so-ever. I do have some reasons though as well as great news: First things first, I told you guys before how important school has been for me so I have been extremely focused with that and only that. Then on weekends I don't have the energy to get dressed up after work because by then it's already too late for me to go anywhere. I honestly believe that this is the first weekend where I am not working. Yesterday, I was doing my last minute Christmas shopping so I was literally out until 7 at night. Once I got home, the first thing I did was hop into the shower and put on some sweats. Today I decided to do some pampering and I got my nails done as well as my eyebrows. I have been a true bed bum today and just spending time with my family here at home (nothing wrong with that, right?).
The last thing I wanted to tell you guys is what a friend of mine and I have been working on and finally are able to say that it's happening.... drum roll please; We have officially started a fashion club at my high school and came up with some really good ideas. My blog, this blog, our blog, has became known to the school (and others around the world) and will be used by my fellow classmates to share any ideas they have or even fashion issued events coming up in the school. This blog went from just me putting my ideas on a screen to something bigger. I only got here, the place I am today, with the help of all of you from just clicking on the link to sharing the word verbally to friends and family friends. So this is a huge shout-out to all of you and telling you guys how appreciative I am to have such positive people around me.
A new chapter in my life has began with a special person by my side encouraging me to do better. Learning to surround yourself with positive people is the best accessory in any lifetime and lifestyle because your smile is also your best accessory.
Back to where I started: Christmas is in a couple of days and I still do not have a Christmas outfit (can I use the excuse of this being fashionably late or??). I am not sure if most of you know what you are wearing but considering I spent so much time at the mall yesterday I was able to see some outfit ideas from some of the mannequins. Here is what I put together from some stores viewed:

Sequined Skirt + Cozy Sweater
This is one of my favorite looks for a holiday party or Christmas dinner/New Years party. Mixing textures is a fun way to add interest to an outfit, and I love how this knit sweater dresses down this sequin skirt.

Faux Fur + Little Black Dress
This oversized textured coat is an unexpected (and quite cozy) way to complete almost any outfit. It’s feminine and a little bit funky; perfect to throw over a cocktail dress for a night out or over jeans and a t-shirt during the day (my favorite way to use them).
Skinny Jeans + Tailored Jacket
A tailored jacket is one those pieces that can completely change the look of an outfit. Pairing it with a silk blouse and a pair of skinny jeans creates the perfect look for a day at the office or just normal run a-rounds. It’s functional while maintaining stylish. Adding a pop of color with shoes would be just as perfect.
Leather Jacket + Lace Maxi
This is one of my favorite day-to-night looks. Mixing a feminine dress and a leather jacket is a great way to attain a fresh look.
