Bright&Lace

Before I start telling you guys about my outfit; I need to give this HUGE shoutout to my biggest supporter and the one who always has my back, my dad! Today has been his graduation for something he has worked so hard for and the job he had wanted all his life. After 4 and half months with his presence not fully attented in our home, he is finally back and I, myself a long with my mom, cannot be prouder! He is such a strong individual and has never given up; my biggest goal is to reach my dreams just like he has accomplished his! So with that said, I love you so much daddy and so glad to have you back- watch out boys haha!

Okay so now onto my outfit:
This dress was $70 from H&M and honestly so worth the price. It was perfect fitting and literally the last one in the whole store so I had to get it, right?

Shoes: I actually wanted to wear wedges with this dress, but for some reason it was so hard to find brown/tan wedges anywhere so I turned to my mom's pair of nude heels!

Accessories: My hair was pulled back into a slick low ponytail and I had on these greenish blue round earrings from Old Navy with a gold rim.

Pattern: The dress was fully laced with just the sleeves to fill in with your own bare skin and the sides were a bit shorter than the front and back of the dress!

I hope all of you have been having a great day and that you guys enjoyed reading and seeing my outfit!
Xoxoxo

Congratulations daddy!

The New CUT-OFF

by 2:57 PM
After several seasons of denim shorts cut so high that everyone can see the lining of your pockets, it's time for the new length. While not all of us will completely abandon the opportunity to show off our legs, the denim cut offs for summer 2014 are much so clear.

We can definitely call it an everyday alternative since it's kind of difficult to think of anything more relaxed than a pair denim cut-offs.

We all have a pair of old jeans in the back of our dresser/closet. Just bring them out to light and introduce them to a pair of scissors and WALA- you have yourself a pair of cut-offs!

"Add heels for sassy, a shirt for classy. Go for a tee for downtown, or a blazer for uptown."

Get ready for summer 2014 in the right way- easy breezy! Don't just make the denim cut-off new, make it yours.

It's a Girl

Hello everyone!!!! I have HUGE NEWS! I'M GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!! My mom is pregnant with a baby girl and I cannot explain how happy I am! I have been so busy with helping my mom around the house and softball games and projects and WORK (I'm officially a working women lol) I've been a mess but everything has seemed to calm down now so I'll start to do one ootd every week! I also didn't have my phone for a while because the screen cracked, but now I got my new one plus my computer is very slow and I MUST by a new one asap! (Note to self)
Anyways a couple of weeks ago was the reveal party for my mom and it was so cute! I'm just going to post the pictures of everything because I think that will explain it more then I will!
Before I do that I wore a white dress with my colorful necklace and blue wedges that I had worn to my 8th-grade graduation I believe... Nevertheless, they are so comfortable as well as being fab!

But yeah guys! Like I had said before I am back!!! This will not count as a post for this week because this was from a couple of weeks ago!
Notices: The spring giveaway is right around the corner!

I will talk to you guys later on this week!
PS: I fixed the setting for all of you to be able to comment on my post because I learned that before you guys could not, unless you had a google account! It's all settled down now so go on, do your thing haha
Love you guys!!

Finally Spring!!

by 9:45 AM
Not in the mood for pants or leggings today? Well, floor-grazing maxi skirts and dresses are having a moment right now! Maxis have always been a style "go-to" for me. They are comfortable, easy, flattering, and down-to-earth (literally). Plus, the style is perfect for those "it's a bit chilly, but I don't want to wear pants" days.

I must state the obvious: Fashion always recycles itself. This spring, every spring, it's always best to wear Maxi skirts! No matter what type of body you have, there is a skirt for you!! Of course you should always pick the skirt that best fits you! When worn correctly, maxi skirts and dresses are as flattering as they are fashionable. However, playing picking the right shirt can be tricky. To avoid saying/questioning "does this look good" or "this isn't for me" check out these tips...
  1. The sky’s the limit. No matter your height (yes, I am talking about you, petite ladies) you can wear floor length dresses and skirts. That’s why they invented heels, HELLO!!???
  2. It’s a balancing act. Keep the scale of the skirt in mind. Floor length skirts look lovely with tighter fitting tops (tucked in and/or belted at the natural waist). If the skirt is cut closer to the body, go for a looser top! Cropped jackets and sweaters also look great with floor length dresses and skirts. My favorite is just topping the whole look with a jean cropped jacket for those colder nights!
  3. Be bold! Fashion is all about taking risks! Maxi skirts can be styled with slouchy sweaters, tied denim shirts, and simple tucked-in tees for an effortless yet chic look.
  4. Short figure. The best skirts for short figues are tapered straight (slim) skirts. Length should be around the knee; if it's either too long or too short, the skirt can make you appear even shorter although you have shaply legs, a shorter skirt can make them seem longer.
  5. Thick waist. Wear skirts that draw attention to your legs and away from for waist. Wear long an full skirts. Try your best to avoid any shirts that have embellishments in the middle! Those will draw attention to your waist for sure and you don't want that!
  6. Curvy Figure: Choose skirts with a flat front, side or back zippers, no waistband if you have a thick waist (or keep if you have a waist to show off), flat-textures with little stretch, and soft, fabrics to float over curves. As with the short figure, an off-center slit can help draw attention to the legs and not the curves. The type of skirts you want to avoid are box styles, stiff fabrics, pleats, patch pockets, and any horizontal patterning. Don't wear any skirts that are too tight! That's a big no no!
  7. Larger stomachs: Wear skirts that are lightly tapered. This means to refuse in thickness. You want the skirt to drape. Avoid waistband or just remove them completely, anything thight (don't buy them), front pockets, and anything with huge dot patterns.
  8. Boy like figure: Skirts suitable for this type of figure include most styles although if you are concerned that your legs are too skinny, wear a long skirt with a slit or buttons on the front to increase the leg appeal. If you have a skinny waist wear a wide belt, it will add attention to the waist.
  9. Flat bottom: wear tight shirts (not too tight) and any skirts with a cuts along the legs.
  10. Long waist, short legs: wear straight skirts to give your legs length! The best length for the skirt would usually be between mid-thigh and above the knee. Wear short tops or jackets. Rely on vertical embellishments to give a sense of length as well!
  11. Short waist, long legs: Look for skirts which are straight and have a dropped waist. Skirts that hip-hug or are low-rise, no waistband, and low-slung skirts are also a good choice!
  12. Large thighs: This figure is flattered by skirts that are loose and drape or have soft pleats. Try to avoid wearing narrow skirts!!
  13. REMEBER: If you're confident enough to wear something, nobody's going to care much (except your mother) So if you find it and love it just wear it regardless! Own your body to the fullest And again be bold!
  14. Props to Lauren Conrad for helping out with these tips on her blog, fab fashion idol!
